Just Movement begins the new year by welcoming Mauro Masi to the label for his debut EP. The Argentinean artist first appeared on the progressive house scene in August of 2019 with a contribution to Mystic Carousel’s ‘This Is The Underground 23’ collection, before rounding out the year with an EP on Madloch’s 3rd Avenue imprint. Now beginning 2020 on a strong note, Mauro makes his first appearance on Just Movement with ‘Volem’. The title cut ‘Volem’ begins with warm beats, nicely tuned percussion and a hazy atmospheric backdrop. Anchored by a deep, rolling groove and playful chord stabs the piece moves forward with a buoyant momentum. Cascading motifs highlight the second act, before a third cluster blankets the final break for a gorgeous musical moment. The companion piece ‘Bruno’ follows suit with lovely drum elements and more wistful atmospherics. Remarkably smooth yet quite bouncy in cadence, it’s rhythmic flair immediately sucks you in. Playful hooks and a layer of melodic colour add nicely to the storyboard, before an expansive break takes you closer to the heavens with glowing pads and cinematic tones. Gorgeous music from Mauro which caps off a superb Just Movement debut for the Buenos Aires resident.
