The fourth release on Just Movement sees the return of Michael A to the label. The Belarus based producer provided two amazing remixes of the labels last release 'Luna' by Stergios and has been one of this year's most consistent producers. His recent appearances on 3rd Avenue, Balkan Connection, Magic Room and Stellar Fountain have all been spectacular and his latest EP for Just Movement entitled 'Faces / World Z' promises to be his best yet.
The tough beats and trippy electronics of 'Faces' leads the release off. Uniquely contoured vocal stabs and an aquatic underbelly display Michael's sound sculpting skills quite nicely. As the piece slowly begins to take shape a soft atmospheric sheen descends over the framework. Escalating pads and a buzzing tension carry the track through a serene breakdown and on to a climax filled with celestial beauty. A definite must have for all the lovers of intelligent progressive music out there.
The lone remix of 'Faces' is provided by Rogier who is one of the primary contributors on the Just Movement artist roster. Having now appeared on three of the labels first five releases Rogier's cool and contemporary brand of hypnotic house has certainly found a home on Just Movement. For his 'Faces' interpretation Rogier has beefed up the foundation and added an even greater atmospheric presence which results in a very worthy complement to Michael's already outstanding original.
The companion piece 'World Z' closes the release off with another exceptionally cool underground vibe. Michael is a true groove craftsman and it really shows here with well shaped tones and liquid like modulation carving out a wicked foundation. The psychedelic flow of laser-like rhythms and gaseous hypnotic lines are the star of the show though and should make for an unforgettable dance floor experience.
