The latest release on Just Movement welcomes AxeLara back to the label for a new EP. Hailing from Mar Del Plata, the Argentinean artist has become a regular contributor to the Dutch imprint. An appearance on the label’s ‘Summer’ VA Vol. 3 collection along with his four track ‘Time of Memory’ EP have highlighted his discography. Also laying claim to releases on Stellar Fountain and Superordinate Music, AxeLara now lands back on Just Movement with ‘Crystal Sea’. The release begins with the pure progressive vibes of the title selection. Smooth and serene throughout, it carries a lovely hypnotic quality. Warm, driving and layered with great rhythms, it’s a heartfelt eight-minute journey. The two breaks are particularly emotive but not in an overt sense, delicate motifs do wonders to build an impassioned vibe before a timely build ushers in a driving finale. The companion piece ‘Port Of Dreams’ follows a similar sonic ethos to it’s predecessor and resonates on a deeper level. Remarkably fluid, it’s incredibly meditative, moving through rhythmic pulses and atmospheric phrases, while quirky tones add just the right amount of musicality. Strummy motifs elevate the narrative moving into the break, making for impassioned moments across the centrepiece before a gentle rush sparks a glowing finale. It rounds out two classy productions from AxeLara who is yet another Argentinean artist to keep a close eye on moving forward.
