The latest release from Just Movement welcomes Dr Alfred to the label for his debut single. The Cuban born, Spain based artist has amassed an impressive discography over the course of his eight year career. His unique take on progressive music has led to releases on Beat Boutique, ICONYC, Soundteller and Stereo Records. Now making his first appearance on Just Movement, Dr. Alfred presents his latest single entitled ‘23 Seasons’ alongside remixes from Michael A, Matteo Monero and Jeancy.

The original mix kicks the release off with a classic old school groove and astral arps. Angelic in nature, vocal choirs descend over the framework, leading to a  break highlighted by dark tonal themes and buzzing electronics. A well executed build reforms the core with funky hooks providing additional dance floor delights, before returning to the ghostly choirs for an operatic finale.

First up on the remixes is Genesis Music boss Michael A who returns to the label for his fifth appearance. The Belarus based artist and Hernan Cattaneo favourite takes ‘23 Seasons’ into modern territory with a moody twist. Anchored by a tough,  punchy groove it’s murky beginnings quickly evolve into a myriad of astral designs and processed vocals. Undeniably fresh, it’s this unique approach which has won Michael so many fans in the progressive underground, and with a devilish break and percussive finale it’s definitely one you’ll be hearing the more adventurous DJs playing in the coming months.

Fresh off releases for ICONYC and Stellar Fountain, Matteo Monero makes his Just Movement debut with a stunning interpretation of ‘23 Seasons’. The Italian artist is highly regarded for his peak time creations and he certainly lives up to that sensibility here. Dark and menacing from the outset, it’s growling stabs, acidic underbelly and esoteric effects unite for a psychedelic audio collage. The break brings further tension with spaced out tones piercing the air momentarily, before shifting momentum into a percussive finale.

The third and final interpretation of ‘23 Seasons’ is provided by Jeancy who is also making his label debut. The Spanish artist slows the tempo slightly for a deep and spooky rendition that complements the previous versions wonderfully. Backed by a techno inspired groove it’s wonky synth design and gentle arps provide an intriguing contrast. One of introspection and drama, building in waves before a spaced out break further advances the narrative through tonal tension and timely modulation. A stunning remix from Jeancy who proves to be an artist to watch as 2019 unfolds. It caps off a well rounded release for Just Movement and a welcome label debut for Dr. Alfred.
